3 months!
Okay...take 2. I just typed up this entire update...it decided not to cooperate, and then I accidentally deleted it all...twice. So I'm going to attempt to type it all up again but I must admit, my excitment over writing an update at all has vanished and I'm actually rather frustrated with the whole thing. Okay...so hurray, Maeve is 3 months old! She really loves watching her Baby Einstein videos and sitting her in bumbo seat!
She loves to "dance" to the Winnie the Pooh exercise song and her new favorite book is Dr. Suess, There's a Wocket in my Pocket! She really is starting to laugh now and she smiles at everything. She has found a best friend in her Jitter Bug. Jitter Bug and Bumble Bee hang above her changing table. She gets very excited to see her best friend! Another favorite time of the day...tubby time! Maeve absolutely loves her tummy time and when she loves to "swim" with her purple octopus!
She celebrated a couple birthdays this month, such as Mummum's birthday and of course her mommy's birthday in September! She is now starting to reach for her toys hanging from her car seat and play mat.
She also can hold her head and chest up when she lays on her tummy! She will be rolling over soon so check back up for more updates!

We have laughter!
After endless silly faces, wacky noises and downright weird things, Maeve has finally started to laugh! It is the cutest laugh ever if I must say so. The first time I really heard it, I mean more than just a quick "ha" laugh, I mean a can't stop cracking up laugh, was a couple nights ago. I had her on the changing table, suprisingly one of her favorite places to be...(must be those warm fuzzy diapers she always gets when shes up there!), I was playing with her, and tickling her a bit and there it was! I was in so stunned, I stood up and looked at her and said, "was that a laugh?!"...and she laughed again. My mom and brothers are trying to get her to laugh too, but so far she usually will only do it for me. Tonight we were playing in our room, she was getting some tummy time in on my chest and picked her head up to look at me, "oh hey there!" I said...she cracked up laughing. I absolutely love her laugh! I am trying to get a video up, but it is really hard to take one...and make her laugh at the same time. One of these days I will though.

2 month check-up!
Maeve had her 2 month well visit today! She is doing wonderfully, gaining and growing just like she should! The doctor was very impressed that Maeve has been sleeping so much at night! She weighs 12lbs now and is 22 1/2 inches long! 12lbs already! My little chunker! She also got 3 needles today! Poor baby, she was so happy, talking and smiling at the nurse, then bam! screaming. I was crying right along with her by the second shot. She calmed down quickly though so we're all better now. She has been sleeping since we got home and she isn't showing any signs of waking up any time soon. Poor baby. Well other than those 3 needles, she had a great visit. We don't go back to the doctor until November when she is 4 months old.

Happy Birthday Mummum!
Maeve and I went over to Mummum's tonight because today is her birthday! Maeve hung out with her Aunt Julianna and Uncle Matt until everyone else got there, then she was excited to see her cousin Chase again! We finally we able to get a picture of Maeve & Chase...together...awake!

2 months!
Maeve is 2 months old already! It is so hard to believe, I still feel like shes only a few days old...just add in all the smiles, coos & laughs. The past month has been very exciting for Maeve. She is getting heavier and longer every day and has started smiling, laughing and even talking sometimes. She loves laying on her changing table, talking and smiling at her toy that hangs above. She even likes to fall asleep up there sometimes, it must be really cozy...
Maeve went down to visit her Great Gram & Pop Monaghan at Driftwood Campgrounds in Avalon, NJ. She had a great time with her Gram & Pop and even got all dressed up in her bathing suit! Pop thought she was pooping every time she made a face, but she sure showed him when she finally did go...it was explosive!

Maeve and I attended the Big Latch On in the Cherry Hill Mall on August 6, 2011. The Big Latch On is an event that brings together breastfeeding mothers all over the world, to nurse their babies at the same time across the globe in an attempt to break the world record for the number of mothers & babies nursing at the same time! The Latch On also helps to promote mothers nursing their babies, any time, any place. Breastfeeding is not considered the norm in our society and mothers across the country are being asked to "take that somewhere else" or to "cover up" because people feel that breastfeeding is indecent, obscene or inappropriate to be done infront of other people. There is nothing wrong with breastfeeding, and when the baby is hungry a mother should not be made to feel ashamed of simply feeding their baby. The only way to make breastfeeding in public normal is to actually nurse! Anytime, anywhere! The more exposure people have to breastfeeding, the more they come to accept it.
Maeve went on her very 1st vacation to Margate, NJ! She had a great time hanging by the pool, getting water ice, and taking walks on the beach! She put her feet in the ocean & on the sand for the 1st time! She was really confused about the ocean, but she enjoyed scrunching her toes up in the sand!
Maeve also went to her 1st birthday party! Julianna turned 8 this month and had a Justin Beiber party! Maeve got all dressed up for the party!
This past month was a lot of fun but we are really looking forward to the next one! Mommy's birthday is on the 7th, Uncle Matt is going into 1st grade and Uncle Zach is starting high school and Uncle Matt's birthday is on the 26th!

1 month check- up!
Maeve had her 1 month doctor check-up today! She is doing really well and growing perfectly!
She weighs 10lbs now and is 21 1/4 inches long!
The doctor also said that she is developing and growing perfectly and that we need to keep doing exactly what we are doing!

1 month!
Maeve is 1 month old today!! I can't believe how fast this past month has gone! Maeve is doing wonderfully, shes eating well and suprisingly she is even sleeping well! She will sleep for almost 4 hours straight at night, wake up for a snack and head right back to sleep for another 3-4 hours! Sean had to leave when Maeve was about 10 days old, but its for the best and we're excited for him to come back in November. We get to skype with him every once and a while!
Maeve has had her 1st sleepover at Grammy & Poppy's where she succedded in destroying the bedroom with bodily function blowouts! Although Grammy wasn't upset, Mommy was certianly frustrated to say the least!
Maeve has also had quite a few lunch dates with Grandmom & Poppop Monaghan and she got to meet her cousin Chase who has born on July 3, 2011! Although Maeve slept through most of Chase's visit, they did get a few minutes to explore each other on Maeve's playmat.
Last week Maeve went to her very 1st Farm Fair! She was awake long enough to see the cows and then she fell sound asleep in her K'Tan!
She loves being in her swing, looking up at the birds...and then of course falling asleep and she also has a good time in her bouncy seat...although she doesn't really know how to take the vibrations in her feet! She also really loves bath time! She doesn't like being in her whale tub too much, it may still be a bit too big for her, but she does love getting her bath in the sink! Well that is all we have to share for now, stayed tuned for next month's update!!
